Personal Care Assistant

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position is responsible for the provision of high-quality care to all Care Recipients at the facility in accordance with individual care plans. The PCA will always act to protect the rights of Care Recipients including confidentiality, privacy, supporting individual choice, and decision making, and will support the independence of Care Recipients by providing appropriate assistance with personal care in accordance with individual care plans, whilst maintaining accurate documentation and recognising and reporting changes in the health status of Care Recipients.

Exceptional customer service underpins the role of a Personal Care Assistant to ensure we deliver to Care Recipients on our organisational values.

The position reports directly to the Manager Clinical Operations and will work closely with all clinical staff, support staff, Care Recipients, and families, to achieve the appropriate provision of care. It is a requirement of the position to be available for morning, afternoon, and night shifts across a seven-day roster.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

· Qualified Personal Care Assistant
· Certificate III in Individual Support
· Certificate IV in Individual Support
· Certificate IV in Ageing Support
· Certificate IV in Disability
· Other recognised care qualified in the Aged Care / Disability Sector
· Aged care experience preferred but not essential.
· Unqualified Personal Care Assistant
· 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role (Residential Care / Disability / Home Care)
· Competent in the use of the Microsoft suite of software/industry-based software and an ability to quickly learn other software applications as required.
· Highly organised with proven time management skills and an ability to exercise initiative.
· Strong problem-solving skills are desired.
· Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
· Demonstrated ability to respond appropriately to Care Recipient with physical and cognitive disabilities is desired.
· Proven ability to work as part of a team and/or without direct supervision where required requested.
· Qualifications / Registrations / Licences as required
· Driver’s License (essential)
· Satisfactory criminal history check (essential)
· Current and up to date Immunisation Status (including Covid-19 vaccinations)

Executive Support Officer

This position will play a pivotal role in providing high level administrative and project support to the Rural Care Australia Senior Management Team to achieve the organisation’s strategic and operational objectives in a timely, reliable, and efficient manner. 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
1. Relevant qualification in Business Administration or a closely related field and/or at least two (2) years’ demonstrated experience and ability to provide high-level executive, and administrative support in a busy complex and diverse environment. 
2. Demonstrated high-level computer skills including Microsoft Office, Client Management systems, Canva, Social media platforms, websites etc. 
3. Demonstrated high level organisational skills including the ability to prioritise and meet competing deadlines. 
4. Demonstrated initiative, accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving ability within the duties of the role. 
5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively under broad supervision as well as within a team in a high-volume work environment. 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Rural Care Australia is committed in everyday practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children and care recipients, therefore successful employment
with RCA is also subject to: 

• A satisfactory National Police Check;
• Victorian Working with Children’s Check;
• COVID-19 Vaccination or evidence of exemption; and 
• Successful completion of a six (6) month probationary period. 
• Capacity to travel across sites between Merbein and Mildura is required, with occasional travel to meetings regionally.

Nominations are called for the position of Director on the Board of Rural Care Australia Ltd.

The Board is responsible for the overall governance, management and strategic direction of the organisation and for delivering accountable corporate performance in accordance with the organisation’s goals and objectives. 

Nominations must be proposed and seconded by directors of the company.

The person being nominated must either sign the nomination form or the person being nominated must separately indicate in writing their willingness to be nominated.
